01> A cena underground em Feliz / RS tem sido muito ativa ou possa estar estagnada e tu resolve montar a Cold Winds Corporation ? Ou foi em prol de um contexto geral ?

C.W.C.> A cena underground em Feliz / RS anda forte, mas são bandas que não entram no contexto do meu selo. Como ja estou muitos anos parado com minha banda Damn Agony e o término das atividades do meu antigo selo WolfShade productions, resolvi então dar continuidade aos meus projetos solo e iniciar um novo selo desta vez chamado Cold Winds Corporation.

02> Cold Winds Corporation é direcionado a algum genero especifico dentro do underground? Quais são estes generos?

C.W.C.> A proposta inicial do meu selo e dar suporte aos projetos do genero Funeral Doom, Necro Doom, Suicide Depressive Black metal, Black Thrash metal, Dark metal, Dark Ambient music, Dark Ritual music, Darkwave music, Medieval, Pagan e Folk music

03> Tu achas que no Brasil o papel dos produtores esta ganhando maior importancia dentro do underground?

C.W.C.> Vejo muitos bons produtores aqui, com selos dedicados fazendo um otimo trabalho de divulgação tanto aqui no Brasil como la no exterior, mas tambem vejo produtores que lançam o Cd só visando lucros. selos que não sabem nem ao menos questionar sobre a banda que estão a lançar, fazendo o lançamento so por lançar. Esta um tanto comercial no meu ponto de vista.

04> Como é seu intercambio com bandas e gravadoras?

C.W.C.> Sempre procuro conhecer bem as bandas e gravadoras antes de fechar alguma parceria. Vejo a cena underground muito saturada, então procuro sempre por algo novo, diferente e original. Muitas bandas que vejo não tem ideologia alguma e gravadoras sem nada a oferecer em qualidade.

05> Alem de produtor tu tens uma banda chamada Damn Agony. Fale-nos mais sobre conciliar produtora e banda?

C.W.C.> Sim sou produtor e tenho uma banda chamada Damn Agony - Dark Suicide metal. Como a mesma não encontra-se mais na ativa e acho que assim continuara devido a problemas que o baterrista enfrenta por causa das drogas. Isso me deu motivação para criar alguns projetos musicais, pois sinto que com elas consigo expressar meus sentimentos.


06> Seu foco é produção de bandas nacionais e do exterior. Como elabora seus contatos? Como é feita esta parceria?

C.W.C.> Sim meu foco é produzir bandas nacionais e do exterior, sempre visando originalidade, essencia e ideologia.Tenho bons contatos da velha escola do metal que sempre acabam me indicando bons contatos. Apos uma boa avaliação é feita então a parceria, sendo os lançamentos então nos formatos Cd-Pro quando se trata de um ep/demo e tambem Full CD oficial.

07> Quais os paises do exterior tu tens mais contatos e qual sua visão da cena underground nestes paises?

C.W.C.> Meus maiores contatos sempre foram Bolivia, Colombia, México, E.U.A., Canada, Reino Unido, Holanda, França, Alemanha, Italia, Suecia, Russia, Polonia, Republica Tcheca. Vejo uma cena muito mais forte e unida, coisa que aqui neste nosso Brasil ja se perdeu......

08> Quais as bandas que esta praticamente acertado para produzir? Com a volta do vinil estes lançamentos podem vir a ser em vinil ou será em Cd?

C.W.C.> Meus primeiros lançamentos ja acertados são: Keter - Terror Noturno em cd e Altú Págánach - Under the Ground em Cd. Tambem ja estou acertando os lançamentos em Cd da banda Nevoa, Beyond Winter Dreams e outros que no momento não posso comentar. Tambem alguns que farei o lançamento em Cd da banda Nevoa, Beyond Winter Dreams e outros que no momento não posso comentar. Tambem alguns que farei o lançamento em Cd-Pro. Futuramente tem a possibilidade de ter alguns lançamentos limitados em vinil.

09> Qual sua visão da cena underground nacional?

C.W.C.> Vejo um crescimento dentro da cena metal,mas com isso vejo muita banda sem nada novo a oferecer. Bandas repetidas sem originalidade, mas sempre tem alguma banda interessante no meio.

10> Dentro de seus planos de produção esta tambem a organização de eventos e festivais com bandas do underground?

C.W.C.> Tenho planos de voltar a organizar festivais de metal, mas oque estou acompanhando ultimamente é a falta de publico presente nos eventos. Isso acaba me desmotivando para organizar tais eventos.

11> Quais suas bandas e albuns preferidos?

C.W.C.> Vou relatar algumas bandas : Pink Floyd - todos, Judas Priest - todos, Journey - todos, Dio - todos, Accept - todos, Bethlehem - todos, Burzum - todos, Graveland - todos, Ulver - alguns, Bathory - todos, Venom - todos, Arcana - todos, Vangelis - todos, Lorena McKennit - todos, Decoryah - todos, Raison D'etre - todos, Mythological Cold Towers - todos, Miasthenia - todos, Wardruna - todos Leindurg - todos.

12> Com a era da informatica e globalização tu achas que a essencia do underground se fortaleceu ou fugiu um pouco de suas origens?

C.W.C.> Se fortaleceu bastante em partes. Pois hoje uma banda tem como expandir muito mais rapido o seu trabalho e com isso ganhando facilmente o reconhecimento, mas tambem trouxe com isso muito lixo musical.

13> Sendo uma pessoa que viveu a old school metal,como podes dar uma visão daquela epoca e dos dias de hoje sobre o underground?

C.W.C.> Aquela epoca foi maravilhosa. Apesar de que hoje em dia tudo se tornou mais facil e acessivel por causa da internet. Nos que vivemos a old school metal tinhamos uma forte essencia e sentimentos pela musica que hoje em dia muito se perdeu. Tudo agora é tão diferente, tão estranho.

14> Alem da Cold Winds Corporation quais outras atividades como bandas e projetos tu possui? Poderia nos falar sobre os mesmos? E qual a importancia de expor seus sentimentos atravez delas?

C.W.C.> Alem do meu selo, tenho um zine chamado Emperor of Night zine e com o termino das atividades da minha banda Damn Agony dei inicio a alguns projetos, pois sentia a necessidade de expor e transmitir meus sentimentos, sendo eles os seguintes:

> The 4th Condemnation > Projeto de Dark Ambient Ritual music, ativo desde 1998,sendo que em 1999 lançou uma demo intitulada " Labyrinth of Condemned Souls ". Em breve pretendo lançar algo novo.

> Abendgesellschaft > Este projeto retrata meu sentimento sulista quanto ao clima, natureza de nossa região. Ja estou com um album concluido para lançar, 4 faixas longas com passagens melancolicas e depressivas mostrando o lado depressivo e belo das terras do sul.

> Erhfurtgiebietend > Dark Medieval music na linha Fata morgana e Mortiis

> Lvx Perpetva > Dark Funeral music, totalmente num clima depressivo e suicida. Este projeto surgiu devido ao termino da minha banda Damn Agony e minha nessecidade de expor este sentimento.

> Venttus > Southern folk Pagan music. dedicado a lembranças sobre os povos e batalhas sulistas....

15> Quais seus planos para o futuro?

C.W.C.> Meus planos para o futuro é continuar sempre trazendo bons lançamentos e tambem ampliar os trabalhos aqui no selo, produzir camisetas com estampas de bandas que aqui ainda são dificil de se encontrar, pois aqui no brasil so bandas convencionais se encontra. Tambem os lançamentos em vinil.

01, TELL US HOW YOU STARTED THE ONE MAN BAND?

Well its pretty hard to find a good ppl with same taste of music like you , i was in a lot of bands before, 4 man , 5 man bands but i was feeling like its not my so i decide to do all by my self.


02. ONE MAN BAND WHAT IS YOU RECIPE TO START THE PROJECT. CREATIVITY AND TECNOLOGY OR SOMETHING ELSE?

You need a lot of Ideas creativity and ofc technology.you must know how to record how to edit at last a basics of mastering ( i am not good at mastering but i try my best ) :D.It's pretty hard to be one and do everything , but it worth it.


03. WHAT ARE YOUR INFLUENCES?

i always try not to be like other bands and find something my ( own sound ) but mostly so i am not sure if i could say i am like this or that band.


04. WHY THE NAME PROJECT OMEGA?


My inspiration to start "Project Omega" was Deathspell Omega. This band is my all time favorite band. this band has everything what i want in music.Plus i like Omega symbol which is last in Greek alphabet and mostly means the End Of All.


05. WHAT´S THE MESSAGE BEHIND YOUR LYRICS?

Mostly they are about Humans nature about how bad things are today in the world, and that the Humans are responsible for all they have today....


06. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF RELIGIONS?

Ohh all time painful question :D ... well i am an Atheist so i think that religion is nothing more then just control of people, i means you don't need a religion or a bible to have a common sense of that you should not kill or hurt anybody around you, and look at the popes most of them are really successful business mans thous days church don't pay anything to government all incomes stay inside , and like lets be real bible is full of bullshit and fairy tail.


07. WHAT´S THE BLACK METAL IN YOUR LIFE?

it means everything for me not only Black Metal but Music in general.I cant see my life without music. Sometimes there is a bad days and Black metal really helps ( Deathspell Omega ,Leviathan... etc...really helps me sometimes when i feel sad or something).


08. WHAT´S THE SATANISM FOR YOU?

Well its another religion so.....


09. WHICH IS THE IDEOLOGY OF PROJECT OMEGA?

To be honest there is not much Ideology i think i just write music that i like.I mean i have a lot of Ideas that i want to write in music.I guess Ideology is to spread and shear nice music with other fellow humans.

12. AS YOU SEE THE UNDERGROUND SCENE IN GEORGIA?

not as good as it could be, its more about a listeners too, i mean like there is not so much listeners is this or another specific genre, and most common Genre here is Nu-Metal, everyone is tired of it but they keep do it.Most live concerts are not that good with quality.There is no individualism in music here mostly its a copy past from other bands .But ofc there is a few only a few artists who can actually do something and they do it really well.


13. WHAT´S YOU MESSAGE TO THEM WHO BECOME ¨ONE MAN BAND¨ TOO, AND ALL OF BLACK METAL LOVER?

It will be hard but you should keep and keep doing it do the best of you ( do what you love and like, it is most important), and to a black metal lover you guys are great :D keep listen a great genre of music :3

TELL US ABOUT THE BEGINNING OF ¨VENGEANCE WITHIN¨?

I started the band with the intention of being a live touring band in 2008, but after having a hard time finding full time members, I decided to take it to a studio project. I had about 3 songs written at the time, but I had more and needed time to write them. I wrote the next 5 songs in the span of 4 years.

02 WHAT´S YOUR INFLUENCES? My influences are all over the place. My first true passion is Black metal in its variant forms. But I also like Death Metal, Thrash, Heavy and some good old Rock n’ Roll.

03. HOW DO YOU DEFINE ¨VENGEANCE WITHIN¨MUSIC? We are a mixed bag of our influences. You’re going to hear some Black Metal, Death Metal, Thrash and Heavy Metal. We don’t force our music to be one style specific, yet we draw inspiration from each individual’s influences.

04) COMMENT ABOUT THE ALBUM: DEIFYING THE HUMAN INTELLECT¨? This was our first release as a studio solo project with session vocals. It was a mix of songs that I was working on for some time. I wrote all the songs and lyrics. I felt more could’ve been done with the songs, so I sought out full time members to go live.

05) TELL US MORE ABOUT THE ALBUM: GODS OF DELIVERANCE? This EP features full members. Now that all the pieces were in place, we wrote 3 new songs and brought back 3 songs from the first album. The older songs were changed a bit, not in structure, but in style to showcase the new members’ styles and influences. It was also done to show a connection between the first album and this EP and to give fans a listen into the new direction we were headed.

06) HOW HAS THE FANS RESPONSE BEEN? The response has been good. I still think fans do not know how to react to us because our song styles differ from one to the next. But we like to keep things fresh by doing so.

07) WHAT ARE YOUR INSPIRATIONS FOR THE YOUR MUSIC AND LYRICS? Just about everything! We have written about the ugly nature of humans mainly. But also write plenty about historical events.

08) WHAT MERCHANDISE DO YOU STILL HAVE AVAILABLE? We have shirts CD’s, download cards, patches, stickers.

09) AS YOU SEE THE UNDERGROUND SCENE IN USA? There are plenty of underground bands in the scene today! So it looks to be strong.

10) WHAT DO YOU THINK OF RELIGIONS, ATHEIM AND MISANTHROPY? Religion is a joke to us, the Abrahamic religions of course. I think it’s safe to say most of us follow nature-based spirituality. Atheism has it uses, but just like religion, it’s neither proved nor disproved. Misanthropy runs deep in some of our lyrical content. I feel in order to change us, we need to see the destruction and hatred within us.

11) DO YOU HAVE PLAYED MANY GIGS? Yes, we have played so many great shows! Our best show so far was our EP release party this year. All local bands and the turnout was amazing!

12) WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD FOR THE ¨VENGEANCE WITHIN¨? We will be going into the studio to records our 3rd album in November. It will be our 2nd full length album and as of now, will have 10 songs. We also have new merchandise coming out in a couple of weeks.

01) HELLO! DAVID! WELCOME ON ¨HELL´S FRIENDS ZINE¨. HOW ARE YOU?

A) I'm very good thank you. Thanks for the opportunity to do an interview with yourself.


02) HOW DO YOU DEFINE ¨DAVID HANNAH¨MUSIC?


A) To me David Hannah Music is a reflection of many aspects of myself. My various styles of music fall into multiple categories so I felt that using my own name would be the most appropriate name to use, since I play multiple genres of music ranging from Metal, Folk & Medieval just to name a few.


03) WHAT´S YOUR INFLUENCES?


A )My influences come from a lot of different sources such as Bands, Paintings, Films, Video Games, Nature, Books. Anywhere really, I hear music in all sorts of things and that's what influences and inspires my music.


04) DO YOU HAVE ANY SIDE PROJECTS?


A) Apart from writing and recording Metal songs I have a passion for Folk music...more Pagan Folk. I feel a stronger connection to how Pagan Folk bands play. Feels more....natural. So I'm currently near completing my first official Pagan Folk album while jumping between my Metal projects and
collaborating with other bands/musicians.


05) TELL US ABOUT FAVORITE BANDS AND ALBUMS?


A) My favorite band of all time is Judas Priest. That's where everything all started. Hearing the self titled track "Painkiller" was a serious life changer and a very strong influence on me as a musician. I have so many favorite bands and Albums but to name a few.....Painkiller by Judas Priest,
The Wall by Pink Floyd, Surfing with the Alien by Joe Satriani and many, many more. Too many to list.


06) TELL US MORE ABOUT ALBUMS: ¨AMBIENT AIR¨, THOUGHT BUBBLES¨AND ¨ARGO¨?

A) *Laughs* To be completely honest, those albums are not my work. They belong to another David Hannah. There happens to be 2 of us creating music it seems. Unfortunately our albums end up together under the name David Hannah so 99% of people assume we are one person when in reality we are 2 different people in real life. I believe he is American? Not sure. Never listened to his music but maybe since this question has came up I justmight.


07) AND ABOUT ¨INSTRUMETAL¨AND ¨INSTRUMETAL II¨?

A) InstruMETAL 1 & 2 are 2 albums that have been an ongoing project for a few years. I chose the name instruMETAL due to not being able to provide the vocals nor have a singer to work with during the writing & recording stages. So hence the name, it's instrumental Metal music.
They are more like a "compilation" album of all my best Metal tracks I've written and recorded...However I am currently in the process and writing/recording for my 3rd Metal project which this time around is going to be a concept album with the theme and subject being the Occult. I am hoping to provide the album with my vocals but nothing is set in stone just yet.


08) WHICH IS THE ALBUM THAT SOLD BEST? CAN YOU ESTIMATE THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF COPIES SOLD FOR EACH ALBUM YOU RELEASE?


A) I think InstruMETAL has done the best so far, has a few sales but "a lot" of unauthorized free downloads....Taking into account between paid albums and free downloads it has done far better than I ever thought it would, it averages between 10 and 50 downloads per month. Either way I'm happy that people enjoy my music and have either paid or downloaded it.

09) I DON`T KNOW REALLY MUCH ABOUT THE SCOTTISH METAL SCENE, BUT I LIKED
YOUR MUSIC. HOW IS THE SCENE IN YOUR COUNTRY, ABOUT BANDS, ZINES, LABELS,
AUDIENCE AND CHANCES TO PLAY LIVE?


A) In Scotland the Metal music scene isn't massive by any means. It has a few areas dotted over the country that hold live Metal bands to play very small venues but nothing crazy. Most of the music scene is mainly in England. To my knowledge there isn't many Scottish Metal bands that are in the sense well known but one that springs to mind are the band Alestorm. In my opinion Scotland produces far more Folk music than it does any other genre.


10) YOUR PRESENCE IN THE UNDERGROUND METAL WORLD ALSO CONSISTS IN PLAYING IN SOME BANDS. CAN YOU TELL US SOME THINGS ABOUT THEM?

A) I am a one man band unfortunately. I have played in one or two bands when I was a lot younger but I felt that in order to craft and create my visions on what my music shound sound like and how it should be played I had to learn how to home record & how to play different instruments. It's tough,
but I really enjoy the end results that I get once a song or track has been completed. I wouldn't rule out playing in a band either. Live music is something "special", you just can't capture that in a studio.


11) WHAT DO YOU DO IN FREE TIME?

A) My free time consists of sitting down with a good film or playing one of my favorite video games. I tend to start work on another musical idea I have straight after a song/track has been completed. But if I'm not writing or recording music I tend to do the above.


12) WHAT´S THE PAGAN AND FOLK METAL FOR YOU?

A) I love the vibe it brings. It has a natural and ancient sound that lives on from hundreds of years ago.

13) WHAT MERCHANDISE DO YOU STILL HAVE AVAILABLE?

A) At this current moment I have no merchandise so sell. It's never really been a thought of mine to consider merch but perhaps in the future.

14) HOW HAS THE FANS RESPONSE BEEN?

A) My fans are the people that keep me going. Without them I can't write all my best music. They are the most important part of my musical journey


15) HOW DO YOU LIKE MAKING MUSIC? ARE YOU THE KIND OF GUYS TO IMPROVISE IN

THE REHEARSE ROOM OR DO YOU PREFER WRITING SONGS IN A MORE SYSTEMATIC AND SOLITARY WAY, MAYBE IN THE SILENCE OF YOUR ROOM OR NATURE?

A) I have to say I do both improvisation and systematic song writing. Some of my best tracks have came from me playing around with on the spot ideas. Some songs I do are written and recorded note for note, most of my songs are results of improvisation during the recording stage. I prefer silence and solitude when writing my music. I do all my work in my own home, I feel that I have no time limits that way unlike what you have in a studio. It also gives me the time I need to craft my songs into the way I want them to be. Studio has it's benefits but costs money and time is limited. I prefer working to my own schedule and that way I don't have any stress or worries when writing or recording. I believe you can "hear" in a song if it's been forced out rather than slowly and carefully crafted.

16) WHAT ARE YOU PLANNING TO RELEASE NEXT? WHICH ARE YOUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE?

A) I have 2 releases planned. I have my first full length Pagan Folk album nearing completion. Hoping for it to be complete by the end of the year but I can't commit to that just yet. I've also started work on my 3rd Metal album. It's in very early stages right now so I can't give too much detail about it. All I can say is that it is going to have a serious dark atmosphere unlike any of my previous work. Jumping ahead I plan to work on a Future Rock album but I'm no where close to starting anything for that just yet.

01. COM QUE PROPÓSITOS SE ORIGINOU A BANDA SEVERAL EYES?

Com o propósito de manter a chama do metal e trazer novas composições enraizadas nas grandes bandas que representaram este estilo e manter vivo e atual o heavy metal.


02.QUAL SENTIMENTO PARA COM O HEAVY METAL?

Uma forma de vida, ou seja, além da música hoje o heavy metal é um estilo de vida.

03. QUAIS SUAS PRINCIPAIS INFLUÊNCIAS?


Sanson, Saxon, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, DIO, Metal Church, Iron Maiden, Accept, Slayer, Pantera, entre outras inúmeras bandas .


04. QUAL SUA VISÃO SOBRE O METAL NACIONAL?

Muitas bandas boas, porém, não há uma cooperação fraterna entre as diversas bandas.



05. COMENTE SOBRE AS PRINCIPAIS APRESENTAÇÕES?

Temos ficado surpresos com a receptividade da música do Several Eyes. Por exemplo, há pouco tempo participamos de um festival em que havia inúmeros estilos de músicas populares e, somente nós representávamos o metal, ficamos surpresos com a classificação no primeiro dia e na final ter ficado entre os 04 finalistas numa gama de mais de 40 artistas e bandas populares participando.

Também ficamos felizes com a receptividade pelas nossas músicas em nossas apresentações iniciais da Tour Spitting Fire em Santa Catarina, Paraná, assim, acreditamos conforme formos indo para outros estados vamos somar mais conhecimento levando nossa música.


06. QUAL SUA OPINIÃO SOBRE AS GRAVAÇÕES, EVENTOS E PRODUÇÕES DAS
BANDAS NACIONAIS?

Enquanto na música pop do Brasil, é explicita a união entre os artistas para festivais, gravação de shows, divulgação, etc. Infelizmente, o que se observa da cena do metal é que as bandas se isolam não se unindo para constituir uma cena forte e agenda de festivais durável em todo o nosso território.


Se analisarmos outras cenas que aconteceram lá fora, sempre há união das bandas em muitos eventos, inclusive para divulgar seus trabalhos de forma conjunta, existindo festivais durante todo o ano em diversas cidades.


Entretanto, o que vemos aqui é que as bandas menores arcam com todos os custos desde a gravação de seu material, transporte, alimentação, etc..., assim, há uma forte decapitação do estilo por muitos dos organizadores que exploram as bandas nacionais de forma nociva ao estilo, por exemplo, muitos organizadores cobram das bandas para estas se apresentarem e, não investem no mínimo de estrutura para propiciar uma boa apresentação.


Como se observa, não há uma visão profissional para o estilo, ou seja, criar forma para que todos possam ganhar juntos, assim, estimulando economicamente as bandas e todos os participantes da cadeia (técnicos de som, organizadores, patrocinadores, bandas, etc...)


Acreditamos que para o Metal Nacional seja forte é extrema a necessidade de mais União entre as diversas bandas, profissionalizando os eventos, somente assim, deixaremos o nosso metal forte e combatente com outros estilos.


07. PODE NOS COMENTAR MAIS SOBRE AS GRAVAÇÕES DO EP: SPITTING FIRE ?

Neste EP selecionamos as músicas que tínhamos já há um bom tempo, tocávamos em apresentações, entretanto, não tínhamos registrado.

Assim, convidamos o Guilherme Nogueira, para gravar os vocais e ele prontamente aceitou o convite.

Rotten Penetration é uma banda de SPLATTER DEATH METAL, fundada no ano de 2002 por Aécio Valenti na cidade de Bento Gonçalves, Estado do Rio Grande do Sul - Brasil. 01. COM QUE PROPÓSITOS SE ORIGINOU A BANDA ROTTEN PENETRATION?

Tomasini: A banda foi formada em 2002, com o intuito de tocar um som brutal, pesado e visceral... Algo realmente extremo!!!

02.QUAL SENTIMENTO PARA COM O SPLATTER DEATH METAL?

Tomasini: Bem, isso posso dizer que reflete perfeitamente em nossas influências musicais, tanto em relação a música em si quanto na parte lírica. Algo sombrio, macabro, sangrento, e de certa forma repulsivo (no bom sentido é claro).


03. QUAIS AS PRINCIPAIS INFLUÊNCIAS INDIVIDUAIS DE CADA INTEGRANTE SEGUNDO OS INSTRUMENTOS QUE TOCAM?

Tomasini: Bem, nossas influências giram em torno de bandas como Dying Fetus, Disgorge (USA e MEX), Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Sarcastic, Krisiun, Rebaelliun, Sanatório (MG), Morbid Angel... Em relação a parte de cada instrumentista em si, posso falar por mim, sou bastante influenciado por guitarristas como John Gallagher (Dying Fetus), Pat O' Brien (Cannibal Corpse), Diego Sanchez (Disgorge USA) e Moyses Kolesne (Krisiun)... 

04. CONTE-NOS MAIS SOBRE HORROROUS STATE OF ANATOMICAL DECOMPOSITION. LANÇADO EM 2005.

Tomasini: Esse foi o nosso 1° album, e é um marco, extremamente bem considerado mundialmente até hoje. Foi gravado no estúdio Hurricane em Porto Alegre (RS), com o produtor Sebastian Carsin. É de fato um ótimo album, com bastante brutalidade, peso e uma boa dose técnica...

05 E SOBRE O EP: DEPARTAMENTO DE PATOLOGIA E MEDICINA LEGAL?

Tomasini: Bom, a idéia de lançar esse EP, na verdade foi do nosso grande amigo Ivan Loi, dono do selo italiano VISCERA RECORDS, que tem nos dado um suporte extremamente forte e bem sucedido. Esse EP foi lançado na Europa e America Latina, e teve uma ótima repercussão. Na verdade ele é uma espécie de "aperitivo" para o album Pathologic Porn Gore Splatter.

06. EM ¨PATHOLOGIC PORN GORE SPLATTER¨, LANÇADO EM 2013, O QUE MUDOU EM RELAÇÃO AOS LANÇAMENTOS ANTERIORES?

Tomasini: Acredito que as composições se tornaram um pouco mais sombrias... Tanto musicalmente quanto liricamente. É um album realmente brutal e pesado, que mantém a identidade da banda, porém com certa evolução.

07. QUAL SUA VISÃO SOBRE  O UNDERGROUND GAÚCHO?

Tomasini: Bah, em minha opinião nossa cena underground é extremamente rica e vasta; temos bandas realmente incríveis aqui na nossa terra, que não devem nada pra bandas de nenhum outro lugar no globo, e têm surgido ainda novas bandas a cada dia... 
O que ainda acho que está meio precário em certas partes, e isso não se trata apenas do underground gaúcho, mas de todo o Brasil, é a falta de profissionalismo de certas pessoas... Sejam por parte de alguns músicos, produtores, donos de bar, ou o que for... Isso é um problema que muitas vezes acaba prejudicando a cena como um todo, afetando a todos. Claro que não estou generalizando, pois têm muita gente bem intencionada e determinada a realizar um trabalho realmente profissional e bem feito, cumprindo o combinado, promovendo, fortalecendo e elevando nossa cena underground. Na verdade, a grande maioria tem essa idéia firme de levantar a cena, e acredito que está se tornando cada vez mais forte sim. \m/ 

08. COMENTE SOBRE AS PERFORMANCES E PRINCIPAIS APRESENTAÇÕES?

Tomasini: Ao vivo nós trazemos toda a energia que vocês podem escutar nos nossos cd's, toda brutalidade, peso e destruição de nossos albuns, são ainda dobro ao vivo. 

09. ONDE SÃO FEITOS OS ENSAIOS DA BANDA?

Tomasini: A banda possui um estúdio próprio, em Bento Gonçalves (RS), nossos ensaios são realizados lá.

10. QUAL SUA OPINIÃO SOBRE AS GRAVAÇÕES, EVENTOS E PRODUÇÕES DAS BANDAS NACIONAIS?

Tomasini: Como disse antes, acho que o Brasil tem muito potencial nessa questão, temos alguns dos maiores profissionais da área, grandes produtores, promotores de eventos, e as bandas, bem, o metal brasileiro é reconhecido mundialmente como um dos mais influentes do mundo!!! Mas volto a dizer, o que realmente acaba fudendo com as coisas, é a falta de profissionalismo e má índole de algumas pessoas... Promotores que acham que uma cerveja e um aperto de mão pagam as contas das bandas, "estrelismo" em diversas áreas, entre muitas outras coisas, isso é que acaba dando merda. 

11. PODE NOS COMENTAR MAIS SOBRE AS GRAVAÇÕES DO NOVO ÁLBUM?

Tomasini: As gravações estão indo bem, as novas músicas estão realmente brutais, pesadas e técnicas... Acredito que esse será o melhor album da banda até agora \m/

12. QUAIS AS PRINCIPAIS METAS A SEREM ALCANÇADAS PELA BANDA?

Tomasini: Bem, por hora, finalizar as gravações de nosso novo album, e então iniciar uma pequena turnê nacional e que provavelmente culminará em nossa 1° tour européia...

NONCONFORMITY

A banda Nonconformity nasceu em 1994, na cidade de Montenegro RS, propondo fazer um THRASH METAL de qualidade. A banda fez muitos shows no município e arredores até meados de 1997, quando foi desativada. Em 2000 a banda retorna as atividades com força e uma nova formação, ainda tendo 2 membros da formação original.

Depois de voltar a realizar muitos shows em diversas cidades do estado, principalmente em Porto Alegre, Caxias do Sul, Novo Hamburgo, São Leopoldo, foi inevitável o lançamento do primeiro trabalho, intitulado "CHAOS INSANE RELIGION".

O álbum continha 5 músicas com letras em inglês, falando sobre a realidade global, como guerras, terrorismo, fanatismo religioso e os demais "calos" da sociedade atual. O álbum foi muito bem recebido pela imprensa especializada, como na revista ROCK BRIGADE (especializada em HEAVY METAL), programa "Arrasa Quarteirão" da Radio Ipanema FM e participação no programa "Radar" na TVE.





01. COMO SURGIU A IDEIA DE MONTAR A BANDA?

A idéia de montar a Nonconformity surgiu em meados de 1994...estudávamos na mesma escola..éramos bem novos,14 p/ 15 anos..começamos a tocar instrumentos musicais, grosseiramente começamos a ensaiar na casa do Daniel, nosso primeiro baterista !

2. QUAIS SUAS PRINCIPAIS INFLUÊNCIAS?

Nossos influências sempre foram thrash metal... sepultura, Slayer, kreator..e demais bandas de thrash metal.

03. PODE NOS COMENTAR ALGO SOBRE A PRIMEIRA DEMO TAPE : ¨CHAOS, INSANE, RELIGION¨ ?

Cara...esse foi nosso primeiro registro...foi feito em 2001, com pouca estrutura, continha 5 músicas que nos abriu muitas portas....começamos a fazer shows pela grande Porto Alegre.


04. COMO ESTÃO AS APRESENTAÇÕES AO VIVO? ALGO MARCOU ESPECIFICAMENTE
EM ALGUM SHOW?

Poxa se tem uma coisa qUE podemos nos orgulhar foi de feito inumeros shows pela região... O publico sempre foi muito receptivo,,aconteçeram inúmeras situaçoes..cheguei a tocar até com amplificador queimado num show no antigo bar João em Poa..

05. QUAIS AS TEMÁTICAS DA BANDA?

Nossa temática sempre foi os "calos" da sociedade,,,,guerras, terrorismo,problemas sociais... entre outras.



06. QUAL PREVISÃO DO LANÇAMENTO DO DEBUT ALBUM? COMO ESTÁ SENDO A
PRODUÇÃO, GRAVAÇÃO E ENSAIOS? O QUE PODE NOS ADIANTAR SOBRE O MESMO?


Estamos muito felizes.. o CD acabou de chegar essa semana..a recepção está fantástica...a produção ficou por conta do renomado produtor Sebastian Carsin.. o material tem uma qualidade fantástica, deu tabalho mais o resultado final compensou.

Sempre mantemos algo no exterior, agora com esse recente trabalho pretendemos ainda mais divulgação por todos os lugares.

...Achamos a cena no Rs ótima, sempre dividimos os palcos com grandes bandas do sul..sempre algumas casas abriram um espaço legal p/ o metal...pena a galera não compareçer muito aos shows


09. COMO ESTÁ SENDO DIVULGADO O MERCHANDISE DA BANDA?

Putz...está ae um coisa sempre pecamos...pretendemos melhorar isso,para ter uma divulgação maior da banda




10. QUAIS OS PLANOS PARA O FUTURO?

Os planos é sempre continuar tocando e produzindo algo novo , tocar no maior número de lugares possíveis e divulgar ao máximo no trabalho!

The CD starts with the wondrous Sampo music. Get overwhelming. Battery very fast and well directed with very strident rhythm guitar and more drawn cadences. Dark and aggressiveness transport us to the dark times. The sounds of the keyboards are very well embedded in the right time and mood of the songs. The vocal is excellent and well Original. One of the best I've heard in recent years.
In The Child Must Die is one of my favorites. It begins with well sinister and psychotic fingerings. Aimed at Metal-year 80e suddenly the purest and overwhelming black metal. Very fast battery with enough aggression and savagery. A lot of creativity in the rhythms and intervals with fingerings. Merging Metal 80s and 90s Quite originality.
LET THEM PERISH: One of my favorites. Drawn parts in the beginning. Flights pretty grim and macabre. Excellent riffs. Use of well-designed keyboards.
FEAST OF THE NORTH FARM: fast and aggressive Black Metal. Rhythmic drums, but with great technique. Somewhat resembles Black Metal 80s Excellent.
Amidst the WAVES: Brutal Black Metal 90s A lot of aggressiveness. Excellent battery work.
Vainamoinen: I just love this song. Stormy weather, dark and mystical. Excellent.
THE NIGHT SHE DIED: Dude !!! No words to describe this instrumental. Fingerings and goals. Gloomy weather. I found very interesting.

HELL´S FRIENDS ZINE interview with

ZERO VOID guitarist, Daniyar Aktayev.

01. HOW HAS IT ALL STARTED?

ZERO VOID got together in March 2010 following the disbandment of SEXTON, a thrash/death metal outfit known to have been one of the heaviest bands in Astana (Kazakhstan) at the time. Alexei Chichikailo, the driving force behind the band, decided to step down from the position of the vocalist/guitarist and pursue other musical interests. One month later I joined the band in the designation of a guitarist and Ar Best jumped into the band to stand behind the mic. Since several songs of the now defunct band were co-penned by the surviving members (bass player Artyom Khomitskiy and drummer Sergey Shein) who both continued plying their trade with ZERO VOID, it was decided that keeping old songs wouldn’t hurt the newly formed entity, especially considering their quality. Of course, alongside existing pieces of music, new material was composed and immediately turned into new songs.


02. WHY THE NAME ZERO VOID?

I remember back in 2010 we were brainstorming a name for our band, and you know this feeling when cheesy names keep popping up all the time and you can’t break that spell, right? You just can’t escape that. I think we spent like the whole day digging ourselves down in the piles of cheesy names, like

«Mind Cancer» and «Voice Ferrum». Then out of the blue I came up with this well-sounding name that I thought could be… global. Universal. Just think about.

1. Everything starts and ends at zero. You are born and you die. Everything that has a beginning has an end.

2. Absolute zero value in effect means nothing and can be rendered void.

3. Void is hollow like space. Space is endless.

4. The shape of zero is a circle. A circle is a closed loop. An endless cycle in itself. There you have infinity.

So all in all, we have a point where everything begins, everything is laid to rest and amounts to nothing, and where this cycle repeats over and over again. That’s how it makes sense to us. This is something we can think of and intellectualize over forever. We just like the concept of infinity. End of story.

Ultimately, we would think that there is no single-sided, straightforward meaning to it, really. We would absolutely leave it to people to make up their own mind about what lies beneath and look at it under a different angle. The same applies to our lyrics.


03. COMMENT ABOUT YOUR INFLUENCES?

We’re hugely influenced by the classic grindcore, death and thrash metal bands like SLAYER, SEPULTURA (with Max of course), CANNIBAL CORPSE, DEATH, DYING FETUS, CARCASS, SUFFOCATION, VADER, TERRORIZER, NAPALM DEATH, amongst others, but we also love contemporary technical/progressive death metal bands like RINGS OF SATURN, REVOCATION, DECREPIT BIRTH, SPAWN OF POSSESSION, ARCHSPIRE, BRAIN DRILL. Some of us also listen to melodic death metal, some listen to classic heavy metal and classic rock and some listen to jazz and pop music. Our music, however, is a mix of different styles of metal, such as thrash, death and melodic death metal, but for the sake of simplicity we’d prefer to keep the style short – death/thrash metal.

04. HOW`S THE ACTUAL LINE UP?

The most recent stable line-up recently translated into being the most unstable, really. Our strongest line-up circa 2013 consisted of Sergey Shein on drums, Artyom Khomitskiy on bass, Alexei Chichikailo on vocals (who came back into the band for a while) and me on guitar. Unfortunately, about a year ago we took a hard decision to part ways with the guys due to conflicting schedules with their respective bands and jobs. Following that, we asked Ar Best to help us out with vocals once again and recruited Ilya Morozov to fill the shoes of the bass player. In Astana good musicians are few and far between. Reality hurts.


05. WHAT’S THE MESSAGE BEHIND YOUR LYRICS?

Unlike a somewhat cosmic concept of our bandname, our songs deal with a wide span of issues – from inner struggles to social problems and injustice. Most lyrics are personal and bear individualistic vibe, something that a particular person

sticks to within himself, but at the same time feels like sharing with the rest of the world. On the other hand, our lyrical content is quite diverse. For instance, the one track off our album that stands out is «Manipulation Catalyst» which touches upon corruptive practice and exercise of ultimate power over general population. So there you go.

06. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF RELIGIONS?

We are mature. We don’t play their games. Period.


07. HOW MANY CD`S HAVE YOU RELEASED?

Our only album is called «Progression Towards Zero». It was recorded at Cosmos Studio (Moscow) in August 2012 and later mixed and mastered by a well-known Russian sound engineer Arkadiy Navaho (KATALEPSY, FETAL DECAY, SCRAMBLED DEFUNCTS). The album release date was delayed several times for various reasons until it was finally delivered to the general public by Headxplode Records on December 22, 2013. As of now, we are not working with Headxplode Records anymore and are looking for a new label.


08. WHAT MERCHANDISE DO YOU STILL HAVE AVAILABLE?

We don’t have any kind of merchandise to date, but the t-shirt design is in the works right now, and we’re hoping to make several exclusive t-shirts this summer. We are not very popular amongst the metal community and can’t boast a solid

audience. Our fanbase is next to nothing, really, so keeping loads of our merchandise in stock is pretty much pointless right now.


09. DID YOU HAVE PLAYED MANY GIGS?


Many is a relative concept. Throughout our band’s five-year history we had played mostly in Astana, visited 6 cities in Kazakhstan (with some of them playing as much as two times at least), did one gig in Russia in 2014 and one gig at METAL CROWD festival in Rechitsa, Belarus in 2014. At METAL CROWD we shared the stage with bands from Russia, Belarus and Ukraine (ARKONA, SINFUL, LITVINTROLL, BALFOR, to name a few), as well as behemoths of the European metal scene – HATE (Poland), SUSPERIA (Norway), THY DISEASE (Poland) and MORS PRINCIPIUM EST (Finland). We had a great time and made friends with great bands like GUARDIANS OF TIME (Norway), DORMANT ORDEAL (Poland), LAST PERFORMANCE (Russia) and EXEGUTOR (Belarus). On the downside of touring, ZERO VOID, alongside the mighty INHUMATE (France) and CRYPTIC IMPLOSION (Ukraine), was supposed to embark on a Ukrainian tour dubbed TOTAL METAL DOMINATION in April 2014, but due to the unstable political situation in the country all booked bands had no choice but withdraw from this tour before it even began. The cancellation of this trek resulted in a massive economic setback for our band. Our prepayment to the concert agency was spent on a huge advertising campaign to promote the tour and since this expenditure was deducted as a sunken cost there was no way our money could be returned to us. But what happened happened. We learned our lesson. On a positive note, we have several t-shirt «left-overs» (pun intended!) with the backprint tour dates that were never played! Proudly worn, ha-ha! )))


10. HOW`S KAZAKHSTAN UNDERGROUND SCENE?


Kazakhstan’s underground scene is even deeper underground than your regular “six feet under” distance beneath the soil :-). Of course, there are bands rooting in their basements, perhaps writing music, but hardly doing any gigs. I don’t mean to say that there are no gigs in Kazakhstan, there are, but after taking a closer look one would think that metal fans in Kazakhstan deserve better. There are very strong bands who don’t compromise their technical abilities and who are constantly working their asses off to take their music to the next level, like ZARRAZA and HORROR SYMPHONY from Almaty, CHECK THE DISTORTION from Astana, DOUBLEFACE from Atyrau, NOISE EXECUTION from Aktau, TISHINA and SEVENSINS from Ust’-Kamenogorsk. These guys work really hard and deserve their fair share of underground success.


11. WHAT´S THE DEATH/THRASH METAL IN YOUR LIFE?


I wouldn’t go as far as narrowing it down to just «thrash/death metal», but I would say about metal in general. For ZERO VOID metal is more than just a hobby, it’s a lifestyle. It is not supposed to be a source of income – you just play metal for the love of it. Metal is the music that always keeps you pumped up for great achievements and high spirits. It is also a great catalyst if you’re into sport, fitness, bodybuilding, boxing, you name it. It keeps you working hard and motivated.


12. WHAT´RE YOU FUTURE PLANS?

We’re writing new songs at the moment. This summer is going to be pretty hot, we’re blasting Almaty (former capital of Kazakhstan and the largest city in the country) in the beginning of June, then we’re heading to Novosibirsk (Russia) in July. August will probably see us destroying Aktobe (Western Kazakhstan), but that gig is unconfirmed yet. After that we are going to fully concentrate on the new songs and refrain from touring until new songs are 100% complete and we’re ready to record.
