CLOSE ENEMY

01) COMO SURGIU A IDEIA DE MONTAR A BANDA CLOSE ENEMY E COM QUE PROPÓSITOS?

A banda surgiu em outubro de 2019, no Centro de Recuperação Litoral Norte (uma clínica de reabilitação para dependentes químicos, na cidade de Capão da Canoa - RS). Eu já havia concluído meu tratamento e realizava um trabalho voluntário, dando aulas de violão, baixo e bateria para os internos. Quando o Barba (guitarrista da Close Enemy) iniciou o tratamento dele em setembro, começamos a fazer um som juntos. Na maioria das vezes tocávamos covers de Nirvana. Até que um dia fomos advertidos pelo psiquiatra/diretor da clínica por estarmos tocando “músicas de ativa”, que são aquelas que ativam nossa memória química e nos torna mais vulneráveis a uma recaída. Tanto quanto o Barba temos nossas raizes plantadas nas vertentes mais pesadas do Rock e do Heavy Metal, por isso decidimos compor as nossas próprias músicas trazendo desta sonoridade, mas com uma letras que remetem à recuperação. Ou seja, criar um novo vínculo entre som pesado e comportamentos!


02) QUAIS SUAS PRINCIPAIS INFLUÊNCIAS?

Nossas influências são de bandas do cenário Nu Metal, Thrash Metal e Grunge, dos anos 90 e 2000. Bandas como Korn, Slipknot, Love and Death, Nirvana e Sepultura.


03) DE ONDE VEM AS INSPIRAÇÕES PARA COMPOR AS MÚSICAS E LETRAS?

As composições das letras são de minha responsabilidade, e falam sobre experiências vividas por nós (eu e o Barba) com as drogas e sobre as estratégias que usamos para permanecermos limpos.


04) QUAIS SUAS BANDAS E ALBUNS PREFERIDOS?

Eu não poderia deixar de citar Roots (Sepultura), korn (Korn), Iowa (slipknot) e Between Here & Lost (Love and Death).


05) PODE NOS FALAR MAIS SOBRE OS LANÇAMENTOS DOS VIDEOS DA BANDA NO YOU TUBE?

A gente ainda não lançou um clipe oficial da banda. Nosso possui alguns vídeos editados por mim para ilustrar um pouco as histórias das músicas. Mas já estamos planejando produzir e lançar alguns videoclipes oficiais em breve.

06) QUAIS AS MUSICAS QUE ESTARÃO PRESENTES NAS PRÓXIMAS GRAVAÇÕES?

Estamos preparando um EP com 5 músicas que será lançado ainda esse ano. The Closest Enemy, Not Again, I’m Your Disease, The Freak Show estão nesse EP, além de mais uma música que será surpresa!


07) VOCÊS PRETENDEM FAZER LANÇAMENTOS INDEPENDENTES OU ESTÃO EM BUSCA DE ALGUMA GRAVADORA?

Como nós temos um contrato com a Roadie Metal, vamos discutir isso com eles ainda.


08) QUAIS OS PLANOS PARA O FUTURO?

A ideia é lançarmos esse primeiro EP e em seguida já lançar o álbum. Não sabemos qndo as coisas vão voltar ao normal por conta desse vírus, mas a ideia é, assim que possível iniciar uma turne nacional e internacional.


09) OBRIGADO PELO APOIO E ATENÇÃO. ALGUM COMENTÁRIO FINAL?

O melhor conselho que eu posso dar é: Seja esperto e fique longe das drogas! Se você já entrou nessa e não consegue sair, peça ajuda! Viver de cara é a maior loucura!

CAMPO DE SANGUE

01) O QUE MUDOU DA ANTIGA E EXTINTA BANDA QUE VOCÊS TOCAVAM EM 2018 A ¨BLOODYFIELD LOADED¨ PARA A ATUAL BANDA: CAMPO DE SANGUE?

Anderson Tolotti: - A mudança foi praticamente na consistência do som, com a entrada de músicos talentosos que contribuíram muito com o que almejávamos dês do início, mas a essência da banda continua a mesma.


02) COMO DEFINEM O SOM DA BANDA?

Anderson Tolotti: - É um pouco difícil definir nosso som porque tentamos uma sonoridade própria, mas flertamos com o Thrash, o Stoner e o Metal.


03) QUEM COMPÕE AS MÚSICAS E LETRAS? QUAIS TEMAS ABORDADOS?

Anderson Tolotti: - No início eu era o responsável por compor as letras e músicas, mas com a entrada do Deco Santos as composições estão a cargo dos dois. A respeito dos temas abordados, falamos sobre a nossa verdade, naquilo que realmente acreditamos e vivemos: Que o homem precisa se encontrar no seu propósito de vida, para se tornar um seu humano melhor e nessa grande responsabilidade podemos contar com a ajuda de Deus.


04) QUAIS SUAS PRINCIPAIS INFLUÊNCIAS?

Anderson Tolotti: - Bandas de Metal dos anos 80 e 90, de Black Sabbath a Sepultura.


05) QUE PODE NOS ADIANTAR SOBRE AS GRAVAÇÕES DO ÁLBUM QUE SAIRÁ PROVAVELMENTE EM SETEMBRO DESTE ANO?

Anderson Tolotti: - O álbum vem com uma pegada forte, com linhas de baixo e guitarras intensas e pesadas, com vocal forte e agressivo, uma batéra na pegada do "Metal Brazuca", e letras impactantes.

06) QUAIS OS ASPECTOS POSITIVOS E NEGATIVOS DE SE FAZER LANÇAMENTO INDEPENDENTE EM SUA OPINIÃO?

Anderson Tolotti: - Na realidade, cremos que um lançamento independente só ocorre pela falta de uma grande gravadora ou selo que apoie a banda, pois lançar de forma independente acaba sendo mais caro e trabalhoso.

07) VOCÊS SÃO AMIGOS DO PESSOAL DA BANDA KORZUS. COMO É O INTERCÂMBIO ENTRE AS BANDAS?

Anderson Tolotti: - Gostaríamos muito de ser amigos do pessoal da Korzus, mas tivemos somente um contato em uma live com o Marcelo Pompeu, que nos deu muitas dicas boas para banda e nos aconselhou a mudar o nome da banda, pois o nome era em inglês e cantamos em português.

08) QUAL SUA VISÃO DA CENA UNDERGROUND NO RS?

Anderson Tolotti: - O underground no RS, assim como no Brasil todo conta com uma galera muito talentosa que luta ferozmente para manter o rock vivo e a cena acesa. Como em outros setores da arte, a falta de incentivo se torna muitas vezes um empecilho, mas o pessoal do underground é muito "raçudo" e a cena não para.

09) QUAIS PLANOS PARA O FUTURO?

Anderson Tolotti: - Terminar a produção de nosso álbum, e após a gravação de alguns videoclipes, tocar e mostrar nosso trabalho no máximo de lugares possível. Já estamos, inclusive, compondo músicas para o segundo álbum. 

10) OBRIGADO PELA ATENÇÃO E APOIO. ALGUMA MENSAGEM FINAL?

Anderson Tolotti: - Nos que agradecemos a oportunidade. E a menságem é: Nunca, mas nunca mesmo desistam dos seus sonhos. E mesmo que seja difícil, se você acredita, já tem tudo o que precisa.

WARCODE

1) Tell us about the beginning of Warcode.

Warcode took form back in 2008 as a project of Vasilis who along with the help of his best friends Pete and Milt recorded a demo EP. Pete took over the role of the vocalist and Milt handled the recording aspect of this project. Soon after the release of the first EP Milt joined the band as the second guitarist and Victor with Lefteris came along to fill the space of drummer and bassist. With this line up we’ve performed live around Greece (and played some shows in Bratislava Slovakia) as well as recorded our debut album back in 2014 titled “Vortex of Chaos”.


2) How's the actual lineup?

After some lineup changes throughout the years the band consists of Vaios Sven (vocals), Milt Argyriou and Vasilis Karaoulis (guitars), Dimitris Kontogiannis (bass guitar) and Vasilis Manitsas (drums).


3) Who writes the music, the lyrics and where do the lyrical ideas come from?

At this point we must say that everybody in the band contributes with his ideas either concerning the lyrical part or the musical part. But concerning the lyrics me must say a big thank you to our good friend Mao who contributed much, both for Vortex of Chaos and Post-Modern Delusions.

4) Tell us about the Greek underground scene.

Huge topic! We could speak about the Greek underground scene much. There are many great bands in the Greek underground, many bands that have given birth to Extreme Metal scene in Greece and generally many other genres. Sometimes it seems that there’s a unity within the underground scene, but sometime it feels that it’s you against all, if you know what i mean. Anyway, there are many cool and great bands in the Greek underground scene such as Mortal Torment, Murder Made God, Inveracity, Mass Infection, Dead Congregation etc.. Do yourself a favor and check these guys!


5) Comment about the album Vortex of Chaos.

Our first piece of work as a collective. We’ve busted our asses writing and rehearsing the songs for this album! If memory serves well we had to record it 2 times in order to make it right. The lyrics on this album consist of various topics , for the most songs on the album the main aspect of the lyrics is sociopolitical and more deeper, hard to analyze matters portrayed in songs like “To Predict a Retribution” and “Beauty of Extinction”


6) Tell us more about the album Post-Modern Delusions

Now, concerning Post-Modern Delusions, the main trigger of the lyrical composition is consequences of war. War gives birth to hate, pain, everyday problems and discrimination. At least we don’t want to observe in apathy. We see the world getting crazier and crazier and somehow we want to make a stand against all this madness. Musically speaking the album consists of aggressive, fast paced metal which is our cure from everyday routine. We know it sounds cheesy but it’s the vile truth.

07) Have you played many gigs?

We have played a good amount of live shows over the years here in Greece, We made a mini tour on central Europe back in 2015 which was a great experience and we continue to try to play as many gigs as we can. Nowadays the pandemic of Covid 19 has strike us and we’ve had to cancel some gigs we had planned to promote our second album.. A real shitwreck situation!


8) Which is the ideology o Warcode?

We can ‘t say that we have a specific political ideology. Two thing are certain. One we despise how Capitalism ruins the world arounds us. And two we absolutely despise every extreme act. We despise fascism, racism, sexism and every kind of discrimination. That’s all, end of story.


9) Tell us about your favorite bands and albums.

How many pages do you want this interview to be? HAHAHA! Just kidding. We would say some bands like, Emperor, Immolation, Celeste, Murder Made God, Running Wild, Iron Maiden, Saxon, Sepultura, Slayer and Villagers of Ioannina City (VIC). So, let’s just focus on the bands because the albums would be many many more!

10) What merchandise do you still have available?

If you check our bandcamp page, you could see that there are some Vortex of Chaos Cd’s left, but we also have t-shirts Cd’s and a special wooden case (we really love that!) about Post-Modern Delusions.


11) Any future plans?

Future plans. Hmm, if we survive this Corona piece of shit virus, we want to do more and more live shows. We already miss the stage. But in the meanwhile we are already working on some new ideas for the new Warcode album. Amen!

(Diandro) Primeiramente gostaria de agradecer o convite para Treze Black pela oportunidade e o espaço para podermos divulgar a banda.


01) COMO DEFINEM O SOM DA BANDA?

A Treze Black é influenciada desde os grandes clássicos ao metal contemporâneo, normalmente usamos os termos Nu-Metalcore e Metalcore Progressivo para definir o gênero da nossa música, mas também não queremos nos prender um rótulo só. Vamos tentar inovar sempre as influências seguir tentando trazer novas experiências para o som dá 13 Black.


02) A BANDA TREZE BLACK FOI FORMADA EM 2018 E JÁ EM 2019 FOI LANÇADO O EP: EP "NUNCA ESQUEÇA¨. COMENTE-NOS MAIS SOBRE ESTE TRABALHO.?

O EP nunca esqueça foi composto por músicas que já estavam prontas em outras bandas que tivemos no passado, porém nunca haviam sido gravadas, trabalhamos as melodias novamente reescrevemos algumas partes das Letras.

Foi como se quiséssemos dar o pontapé inicial para abrir os trabalhos.

Ele foi gravado e produzido em Santa Maria pela Fanton group e os produtores Pedro Ferreira e Maurício Torres.


03) DE ONDE VEIO A INSPIRAÇÃO DA CAPA ARTE DO EP: ¨NUNCA ESQUEÇA¨? QUEM ELABOROU?

A Arte da capa eu nunca esqueça incorpora uma árvore em chamas, queria que representasse algo que tivesse vida e o fogo representando ansiedade de fazer algo acontecer.

Ela foi ilustrada pelo designer gráfico Maike Adriel da Oroboro designer também Santa Maria.

04) QUEM COMPÕE AS MÚSICAS E QUAIS TEMAS ABORDADOS EM SUAS LETRAS?

Normalmente os compositores somos eu (Diandro) e o Leão, mas o Rodrigo e Krauser tbm ajudam na hora de lapidar. Sempre começamos a partir de algum riff ou algum ritmo vocal, nas letras são sempre abordadas temas psicológicos tanto na visão de quem está sentindo como de alguém narrando.

Sempre tento também usar a subjetividade na letra e misturar com algum outro tema fazendo o encaixe.


05) EU ACHEI BEM INTERESSANTE AS MÚSICAS SEREM CANTADAS EM PORTUGUÊS. PARA OS FUTUROS LANÇAMENTOS PERMANECERÁ SENDO CANTADA EM NOSSO IDIOMA?

A princípio será sempre em português sim, não vejo necessidade de escrever em inglês quando na maioria das vezes quem escuta é brasileiro. Acho que canções em inglês outra língua também serve mais para bandas que tentam ou almejam o mercado internacional. Primeiro vamos focar aqui na nossa terra, se algum dia a 13 tiver alcançado um bom público e recursos para fazer algo fora, daí talvez.


06) COMO FOI A REPERCUSSÃO DESTE LANÇAMENTO? E SOBRE AS APRESENTAÇÕES AO VIVO?

Desde o lançamento do EP Nunca Esqueça e do single "homicídio solar" que antecipa o próximo EP sentimos um grande aumento número que seguidores, views, plays e interações com a banda, Estamos muito contentes com os resultados.

Sobre os shows no momento tivemos que ficar parados por causa da pandemia do covid-19 mas almejamos que quando tudo volte ao normal tentar conseguir o máximo de shows.

07) COMO ESTÁ A PARCERIA COM A ASSESSORIA DE IMPRENSA : WARGODS PRESS?

A Wargods foi um tiro certeiro, O Maicon é muito atencioso com nós, sempre procurando novidades e nós sempre informando também sobre o que estamos fazendo.


08) QUAL SUA VISÃO DA CENA UNDERGROUND NO RS?

eu acho que a cena underground no Rio grande do Sul é muito rica, tem muita banda foda, falta um pouco de valorização do artista como em qualquer lugar na cena brasileira, mas o underground é isso, todos correm, e todos se ajudando, não só as bandas, como zines, web rádios, sites, canais, páginas, blogs.. todos têm que ter apoio também afinal todos fazem a cena girar. É um ganho de dois lados.


09) COMO ESTÃO OS PREPARATIVOS PARA O LANÇAMENTO DO EP: ¨¨ QUIMERA EP " 2020?

O ep Quimera foi finalizado uma semana antes do estouro da pandemia do covid-19, o que nos facilitou para que pudéssemos prosseguir. A capa já tinha sido desenhada também pelo Igor Vivian, tatuador e brother da banda.

Quimera foi gravado todo analógico, no estúdio Caverão Labs, home Studio do próprio guitarrista Gabriel leão.

10) PARA O LANÇAMENTO DESTE EP: QUIMERA. VOCÊS ESTÃO FINALIZANDO UM CLIPE E LYRIC VIDEO. O QUE PODE NOS ADIANTAR SOBRE O MESMO? QUAL LUGAR ESTÁ SENDO GRAVADO?

Quimera vai ter uma sonoridade e atmosfera diferentes em cada música, foi gravado analógico e cru para transparecer bem a energia do momento.

O clipe vai ficar por conta do Peterson Sanches, produtor visual e baterista da banda irvine, que são nossos brothers.

O vídeo lyric vai ficar caro do Guilherme Wolff, que produziu os vídeos do Nunca esqueça e também o material visual para o YouTube do quimera.


11) QUAIS SÃO OS PLANOS FUTUROS?

Os planos agora são fazer os lançamentos e focar no marketing digital enquanto a pandemia não se resolve, apesar dos problemas estamos bem confiantes.

SURGERY

01) HOW ALL STARTED?

The band has been operating for several years and several musicians have changed in it. After recording the CD, the descent almost fell apart. Fortunately, group of people created new band and recorded a CD of ,,Absorbing roots'' . However, came a change when the singer and guitarist left the band, but a a singer was replaced by a new member of the band Tomas and this group od people, now good friends already, records new songs and also interesting albums. 

02) COMMENT ABOUT THE EP: ¨ PULLED BY THE ROPE¨ AND AILBUM: ¨DESCENT¨?

The simple difference is that ,,PULLED THE ROPE'' was a demo and,,Descent'' is our first full-featured album. 

03) WHAT ARE YOUR INFLUENCES?

In our hearts, we are mainly real death metalists, but we are also influenced by more modern styles. It is interesting to combine it.

04) WHAT´S THE MESSAGE BEHIND YOUR LYRICS?

Our message is to entertain people. We are not dealing with politics, because we don't want to influence people to believe what we do. Our lyrics are about what belongs to death metal, violence and brutality. The new album will be marked by the horror of the eighties and nineties, zombies and slasher.

05) HOW´S THE SLOVAKIA UNDERGROUND SCENE?

There are cities where the fans are visiting all concerts but in the other side there are people, who are not interested in this style of music. Many people, the most young age category, are listening to modern music like pop and hip hop. 

That's why we appreciate every fan and every opportunity to play. We are also thankful for every organizer of the concerts, who still have the power for that.

06) TELL US NOW YOUR FAVE BANDS AND ALBUNS?

Each member of the band is listening to different music. We are fan of everything from death metal, grind or slam, and sometimes we found out there an inspiration for a new song. 

07) WHAT MERCHANDISE DO YOU STILL HAVE AVAILABLE?

Fans still want to have t-shirts, hats, stickers and now we have made hoodies, which are starting to be popular in the fan club. We are proud of that, it is a Surgery Army. 

08) TELL US MORE ABOUT ALBUM: ABSORBING ROOTS?

Absorbing roots is an album with ex-singer. We recorded the album again and became quite positive feedback from people. 

09) AND ABOUT THE NEWS : Knot in the Head ( Oficial )?

There are currently four members in the band and it looks like it will stay. We understand each other musically and also as people. We don't need anyone else because we are already a great team of good friends. We currently have two new songs and they are really perfect. We look forward to introducing them to the public.
