01) TELL US HOW YOU STARTED THE "ONE MAN" BAND PROJECT?

Litosth was born in 2016 as a side project to my other bands, Patria and Swords At Hymns, with the purpose of creating more unrestricted music, where I could blend my personal influences without limiting myself to labels or musical styles. In 2016, I recorded and released the single "Universe of Me," which truly marked the beginning of the project.

02) WHY THE NAME "LITOSTH"?

Litosth comes from the Czech word "litost," which describes a very specific feeling, a deep pain one feels in the face of their own insignificance. I believe the meaning of the name aligns well with the project's sound and lyrical themes.

03) WHAT'S THE MESSAGE BEHIND YOUR LYRICS?

The lyrical theme delves into existentialism, nihilism, and philosophy. We also touch on subjects such as science, atheism, and critique of all religions.

04) HOW DO YOU DEFINE LITOSTH'S MUSICALITY?

That's the toughest question. I really can't fit Litosth's music into a single label. The primary style is undoubtedly Black Metal, but there are songs that range from Melodic Death Metal to Doom Metal, with elements of symphonic, melodic, and even industrial music. Most fans consider it a "Melodic Black Metal" project, so I accept that label.

05) WHAT MERCHANDISE DO YOU STILL HAVE AVAILABLE?

We still have some t-shirt designs available on our webstore, as well as CD copies of our latest release, "Farther from the Sun."

06) COMMENT ABOUT THE SINGLE: "RAVEN'S CIRCLE" RELEASED IN 2021?

It's a song that I truly enjoy and resume what was to come on the album "Farther from the Sun." It starts with a harsher style, like of Swedish "Black Metal" and "Death Metal" bands from the 90s, and then transitions into slower, melancholic passages, like a "Doom Metal" song. The lyrics explore the cyclical nature of life, encompassing both good and evil, where death is as present as life.

07) TELL US ABOUT THE FULL-LENGTH ALBUM: "FARTHER FROM THE SUN" RELEASED IN 2022?

The album revolves around the theme of death, which is approached from various perspectives. The idea of a conceptual album predates the covid pandemic, but it was entirely written and produced during the lockdown, with all the chaos we faced directly influencing the music. The album sounds much more melancholic and aggressive than the previous one, "Crossed Parallels of Self Refraction," which I consider an evolution. It was released through a partnership between SULPHUR records and BLACK HEARTS RECORDS, and also online through the YouTube channel Black Metal Promotion.

08) WHAT CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT THE RELEASE OF YOUR THIRD ALBUM?

The new album is recorded, and we are currently in the mixing step. I don't have a definitive release date yet, but we will soon share more information, including the album cover and tracklist. As soon as possible, we will release the first single and video. I can say that it's the most mature album to date, and those who enjoyed the first two albums will surely appreciate the next one even more.

09) HOW IS IT LIKE WORKING TOGETHER WITH SULPHUR/BLACK HEARTS RECORDS?

It has been fantastic. They have been very professional, and the outcome has been excellent. I had previously worked with Sulphur, and Black Hearts joined the partnership to further enhance the quality of the release!

10) WHAT'S YOUR MESSAGE TO THOSE WHO WANT TO BECOME A "ONE MAN BAND" AND TO ALL BLACK METAL LOVERS?

Just go for it. You will have more freedom than in a conventional band, a tool to express solely your ideas, and immense pleasure in doing so. But keep in mind that there won't be a viable financial return, and there will be many challenges since you will be doing everything on your own. Therefore, to succeed, you must take it seriously, put in a lot of work and dedication. You need to prove yourself.

11) ARE YOU SATISFIED WITH THE RESULTS OF LITOSTH?

Yes, very much so. As Litosth is a personal project, it has to please me. I am a fan of it, and as a consequence, many other people also enjoy it!

12) WHAT ARE YOUR FUTURE PLANS?

The next step, as mentioned earlier, is the release of the third album, which should happen in early 2024. In parallel, I'm already composing and writing some songs and ideas for the fourth album. There will always be more!

13) THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT. ANY LAST COMMENTS?

I thank you for the opportunity and the continuous support. And I would like to invite everyone to check out Litosth's music, which you can easily find on all social media platforms and streaming!
