01. TELL US ABOUT THE BEGINNING OF VONULFSREICH?

In 2012 I got this urge to form a new, working band. I was already pretty sure to pick Fogg and Lempo as fellow musicians since both of them are long-time friends of mine and also, we were already rehearsing three-piece in 2009 and it worked out pretty well. My main band at that time was going nowhere and I felt this raging desire to DO things. And after that, do some more things.
The first twin-releases we did with two different line-ups to record with separate types of recording methods and personalities. Northern Shamanism (recorded with Fogg) was darker but more atmospheric side of V.Ü.R. Sepulchral Silence (recorded with Lempo) instead was heavier and highly punk-influenced.

02. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND TO SOMEONE WHO HAS NEVER HEARD YOU BEFORE?

Obscure and noisy metal/punk that is highly against any musical standards or taking a musical direction depending on what's ”in” at the moment. Most likely the music will sound unpleasant.

03. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE LYRICAL CONTEST OF THE MUSICS?

It's a journey to the darker side of spirituality. It's struggling man's poetry. My lyrics usually involve nature mystics, solitude, darkness, anger and several otherwordly experiences.

04. TELL US MORE ABOUT CD: SPELL OF THUNDER?

Not a CD yet. We are working on the release as we speak. It came out pretty cool I think. I'm not usually this pleased of a new release but this one is quite ok. I would of course change something at this point but fuck it. There's no use to make a perfect record. What on earth would we do next? The core line-up on Spell Of Thunder is me and Fogg only. Lempo needed to take a break from everything and so he went travelling. But he said it was okay to go for it while he's away. However we have some guest vocals and guest solos on the record, and even Lempo appeared to the bünker studio while we were finishing the recordings so he managed to do some additional vocals as well. All in all, we had six people to perform on Spell Of Thunder. That's quite a bunch of people for a cranky loner band.

05. WHERE DID THE NAME OF THE ALBUM COME FROM AND HOW DOES IT RELATLE TO THE ILLUSTRATION ON THE ALBUM COVER?

Just like everytime, the title just came out of nowhere rushing to my head. The name's obviously a small nod towards the first Tarot album. The name fits the album's soundscape very well, I think. About the illustration, I just happened to come across with it in the new year's night when I was listening to the rehearsal demo versions of these songs. It was just something that immediately gave face to our new songs. There was no turning back. It was a perfect choice. It definitely reflects the album's overall atmosphere.

06. WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO USE THIS WORD: VONULFSREICH AS A BAND NAME?

It's from a vision of ”Vonülf” I had in 2012 before starting a new band. I think a unique name would do more justice to our music instead of using english or finnish names. It's too late anyway so all the best names are already taken.

07. WHAT MERCHANDISE DO YOU STILL HAVE AVAILABLE?

Only records. Even they are slowly running out.

08. TELL US NOW YOUR FAVE BANDS AND ALBUMS?

Too many. I have always enjoyed music as music instead of style. I grew up with U2, Beatles and Bad Vugum stuff (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) then later got into pop, rock, electro etc. and ”eventually” found metal around the age of 12 which gave my life quite a new meaning. When it comes to metal, I have stopped following most of the bands years ago. I still have pretty much the same old faves which I probably never grow tired with. If you're interested in listing of some sort, here's my tip of the endless iceberg:

- Burzum: Filosofem
Filosofem or bus money? Filosofem and 25km walk home? The kid made a right decision. Out of this world. Still absolutely mesmerizing. Literally a timeless classic. For me this was a revelation of minimalistic and hypnotic music. I guess that's why I enjoy kraut, ”nowave” and ambient these days.

- Mayhem Deathcrush & De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas
On DMDS modern black metal was born and killed. Deathcrush was my first Mayhem record. I wonder if my Weird Manheim cover version is still somewhere.

- CMX: Kolmikärki
The first album from this long-time finnish group. Before taking more progressive and experimental pop direction, Kolmikärki is still pretty much dealing with hardcore punk (by no means it's typical hardcore though) with esoteric lyrics. Lots of influences from shamanism, theosophy, literature and occult. I was lucky enough to find this album again a couple of years ago. Used to bang my head to this a lot as a teenager. Very powerful and vital album.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQ2xyy0A0tY

- Darkthrone: A Blaze In The Northern Sky
Unique and timeless. Those death metal leads make it even weirder. An unexpected d-beat on Kathaarian Life Code killed me.

- Bathory: The Return......
Usually when I praise this album to people, surprisingly many would say they always skipped or are unfamiliar with that particular album for some reason. Very underrated and 10000000% black metal.

Besides metal, I enjoy bands like Joy Division, Terveet Kädet (Suomi 82 hardcore anyone?), CAN, KTMK/Radiopuhelimet, Vangelis, Magma, Frank Zappa, Dead Can Dance, M.A Numminen, Psychoplasma, Suicide, The Stooges, Kauko Röyhkä, Birthday Party, Leo Bugariloves, The Doors etc.etc.etc.etc...

09. WHAT ARE SOME INTEREESTS THAT YOU HAVE OUTSIDE OF MUSIC?

Art and living/dying. No ”hobbies” really.

10. WHAT´S YOUR OPINION ABOUT: SATANISM, OCULTISM AND SHAMANISM?

They might be a perfect gateway to the unseen dimension of existence and perhaps taking you closer to the truth. Any individual ideology connecting to the roots of man and higher knowledge can be seen as good thing as long as you stick to keep it individual. I write most of my lyrics concerning these subjects.

11. AS YOU SEE THE UNDERGROUND SCENE ON YOUR COUNTRY?

Seeing how the underground scene in Finland is going is one of the last things I'm interested of. There must be some bands worth checking out but I simply got better things to do.

12. WHAT´RE YOUR FUTURE PLANS?

Future is uncertain. I have never seen tomorrow. At least we got some more releases coming around if things work out the way they're supposed to. At this point it's not time for writing or recording but releasing instead. We've been recording a lot of different kind of music within the past year. Let's see how people handle that.

13. THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT. ANY LAST COMMENTS?

Thanks for your support and cheers to our brazilian listeners! Early brazilian death/thrash murders!

01. HOW ALL STARTED?

Post mortal actually came about unexpectedly. it started with tim, brian, jake and i as a a band with jake and brian doing the vocals. tim left for awhile for his own reasons, but left on terms with the rest of the band, which brings us back to him being in the band again. we were trying out vocalists to take some of the load off of the guitars, since post mortal is a rather technical job for them already. ed played with jake and i many years before and he came up to a practice to check us out. ended up liking it so much that he decided to try out for us and we gladly welcomed him back with open arms.

02.  WHAT IS THE FEELING FOR THE CHOICE OF NAME POST MORTAL POSSESSION?

We decided on the name post mortal possession through ed`s suggestion. we were actually having a hard time deciding as a whole on any one name. post mortal possession just stuck out. ed`s original idea was post mortem possession, but we felt that mortal instead of mortem was a little more catering to what we were trying to embody. we feel that the name is catchy yet lets the listener know exactly what they are getting them self into before they even listen to it.

03. HOW`S THE ACTUAL LINE UP?

The actual line up is great! it is exactly the same line up as listed in the cd and on our web page. we all get along and respect each other. everybody`s opinion is acknowledged and accounted for. if someone doesn`t like a part, we change it.

04. COMMENT ABOUT YOUR INFLUENCES?

Our influences are spread out among the musical spectrum. we all grew up with slayer, cannibal corpse, pantera, sepultura, fear factory, and we also have influences that differ from each other like folk, bluegrass, classical, electronic, progressive, acoustic and jazz.

05. WHAT’S THE MESSAGE BEHIND YOUR LYRICS?

I always try to compare death metal to a horror movie. we are no different. we touch base on real life events, such as historical wars, events, serial killers etc. we have some fictional horror movie style writing and our over all message is to be aggressive, technical and show that death metal CAN be easy on the ears ha ha.

06. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF RELIGIONS?

We don`t think much of religion in any facet. we do mention lucifer and satan, but again, we are trying to create a scary environment and a horror style atmosphere. no members of the band hold any strong opinion over religion. it is what it is.

07. HOW MANY CD`S HAVE YOU RELEASED?

Only a couple hundred cds have been pressed so far. the ep has only been out since november of 2014. we are not signed yet, and we are so new that we have no need to press more than a hundred at a time.

08. TELL US MORE ABOUT RELEASE EP: POSSESSING ENTITY?

The ep was pretty much us wanting to release something for the fans to have but we didnt want to go all out for our first release. we have 9 finished songs, and are working on three or four more at the moment. we take our time, and we feel confident that the ep is good enough to keep the fan satisfied for the time being until we release more material.

09. DID YOU HAVE PLAYED MANY GIGS?

We have not played that many gigs. last year we played twenty and this year so far we have around twelve. we are starting to branch out of state but we are older, some of us have kids and are married or about to be. we all have daytime jobs and have responsibility at the moment so its not as easy for us to just drop everything at this time and start touring everywhere. but in due time.....

10. WHAT MERCHANDISE DO YOU STILL HAVE AVAILABLE?

We have a plain black shirt with just the logo on it, and then we also have a black shirt with the logo and the ep cover on it. we are currently working on a long sleeve t shirt and in the future will have hoodies, hats, patches etc.

11. HOW`S U.S UNDERGROUND SCENE?

The u.s. underground metal scene is pretty diverse. ive been told that the eurpoe scene is much better than the u.s. scene.

12. WHAT´S THE DEATH METAL FOR YOU?

Whats death metal to me? well, being the drummer in this band, its challenging. its fun. its bringing the best musicianship out of me. its pushing the envelope and pushing the limits of musical artistry. its badass and my favorite music hands down!!!!

13. WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD FOR THE POST MORTAL POSSESSION BAND?

Hopefully many things!!! we are treating this band as a business and not just a hobby. this is what we want to do for a living and we know how much work its going to take. we are ready and cant wait to see the world doing it!!!

14.  THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT. ANY LAST COMMENTS?

We just want to say thank you for the oppurtunity to speak on behalf of post mortal possession.

01. CAN YOU GIVE US A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE OMEGA DIATRIBE?

Ákos: With guitarist Gergő Hájer we started to play together in 2008 and took years to find the perfect guys for the band. So officially OMEGA DIATRIBE was formed in 2010 and we started to play live in 2012 with the lineup: Gergő Hájer (guitars), Akos Szathmáry (bass), Dávid Metzger (drums), Attila Császár (guitar) and Gergely Komáromi (vocal). In 2014 David (drummer) left the band, putting us in a big trouble (haha). After that we decided to work with a pro american studio drummer to make a record. We’ll drop out a brand new EP called ‘Abstract Ritual’ on 26th of February 2015, featuring Kevin Talley on drums. Fortunately, since we found a new friend, Tommy Kiss, so now he is the one who kicking the heads.

02. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND TO SOMEONE WHO HAS NEVER HEARD YOU BEFORE?

Hájer: Super heavy grooves combined with polyrhythmic elements via low tuned chuggy guitars and growls. We also love to use some atmospheric, psychedelic leads, not the super-technical ones. Just goin' with the flow, you know...

03. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE LYRICAL CONTENT OF THE MUSICS?

Ákos: In the lyrics mainly we touch the psychedelic experiences combined with people’s behaviors. It’s all about how we see the universe or - if you prefer - the world. We take all the external effects and put it to an abstract form. I think this is a part of the art we would like to represent, and we do not like the unequivocal things.(haha) If you want to understand OMEGA DIATRIBE’s atmosphere, do not miss the lyrics!

04. WHAT ARE YOUR MAIN INFLUENCES MUSIC WISE OR NON MUSIC WISE?

Hájer: Musically I influenced by my favourite band's of course, Crowbar, Meshuggah, Slipknot etc... I mainly still focus to the 90's-early 2000's metal scene if I listen to music, but there's some awesome fresh blood on the scene too!
Non-music wise, I inspired by the life, spiritual experiences and bad things around me. I feel myself home in the dark music atmoshpere, I just can't play happy music you know...wondering why..haha :)

Ákos: Tool, Meshuggah and a lot of other genre, for example psychedelic, ambient performers (Shpongle, Ott, etc.). And of course emotions that’s provoked by the world around me.

05. HOW´S THE ACTUAL LINE-UP?

Hájer: The actual line-up is:
Gergely Komáromi - vocal
Ákos Szathmáry - bass
Gergő Hájer - guitar, fx
Attila Császár - guitar
Tommy Kiss - drums

06. DID YOU HAVE PLAYED MANY GIGS?

Hájer: Yeah we had a loads of concerts here in Hungary in 2013 with the debut-album called Iapetus. We also had some shows in 2014 but we have to take s little break, 'cuz we had nobody behind the drums. Haha... it was sucks, but finally we fixed the problem with our new buddy, Tommy Kiss! It took some time, but it has been absolutely worth it!

07. WHAT MERCHANDISE DO YOU STILL HAVE AVAILABLE?

Hájer: Our first-press 'Atom-Reactor' T-shirts are sold out. We had some copies of the debut album 'Iapetus'. Our new record 'Abstract Ritual' will be out on 26th of February! We got the DIGIPAK versions of the CD today and it just looks supper-killer, so you have to order it to on the following link:

Ákos: And new T-shirts coming soon!

08. TELL US MORE ABOUT CD - ABSTRACT RITUAL?

Ákos: When our drummer left the band, we decided to make a new record to maintain interest around us. We have had a lot of riffs we could work with, so we started to create the new songs. It was a hard process cause we were used to rehearsing and that time we couldn’t cause the lack of a drummer. Anyway, I think the new songs are the masterpieces of a dark and hard time in the history of OMEGA DIATRIBE. The result is ABSTRACT RITUAL. You could hear it on 26th! They are super heavy and groovy tracks and I think this EP is more mature than IAPETUS was.
You can get physically in digipak version.
Here is the Tracklist:
01. Subsequent Phase
02. Extrinsic
03. Hydrozoan Periods
04. Abstract Ritual
05. The Quantum
06. Unshadowed Days (Perception Remix) *Bonus Track

09. WHERE DID THE NAME OF THE ALBUM COME FROM AND HOW DOES IT RELATLE TO THE ILLUSTRATION ON THE ALBUM COVER?

Ákos: At this time we wanted to follow a classic way, that the album has the same name as one of the songs on it. Abstract Ritual’s lyrics is written by me, and it is based on a story that my uncle Hofmann had told me.(haha.. if you know what I mean.). It’s about how I live my life, and trying to change people’s way of thinking. Try to help them and show how to stay positive with others, even if I fall on my face many times.(haha..)  So it’s a really trippy, psychedelic, emotional song and lyrics and also the guys found it really close to them. The cover is made by our good friend József Károlyi ‘Roxy’. He is one of the best tattoo artists in the world and his art is very close to us. If you read the lyrics and then watch the cover you will see the harmony I promise.

10. WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO USE THIS WORD: OMEGA DIATRIBE AS A BAND NAME?

Ákos: The basic idea came from the Star Trek series. But we did not want to use such a unequivocal thing, so we changed one word in it. Unfortunately it was just words that have a good sounding, but no real meaning. So one crazy night I came up with a story that made it significant.
Ever since OMEGA DIATRIBE is: There’s a secret ancient writing stem from an unknown alien civilization, a contract between Humans and Aliens about the use of the planet Earth. The government calls it „Omega Diatribe”. This contract says Humans could only use the Earth in a limited time. Overtime is not allowed. When our time is over they’ll come back and take us to a higher level planet. Only the open minded people could survive the transmission, ‘cuz their mind can undergo the changes of the human body.

11. HOW´S HUNGARIAN UNDERGROUND SCENE?

Hájer: We don't have to complain the situation. There's a few really good bands here in Hungary that you have to check out, for example: Torn From Earth, Apey & The Pea, Kill With Hate, HAW.... The problem here is the respect giving to the bands... it's near to the zero.

12. WHAT´RE YOU FUTURE PLANS?

Hájer: We would like to tour a lot with 'Abstract Ritual', also outside Hungary too. We want to spread our music as far as we can.

13. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE SUPPORT. ANY LAST COMMENTS?

Hájer: Thanks for the interview man! Make sure to check out our upcoming release ‘ABSTRACT RITUAL’ on 26th of February! Stay true! Peace

Ákos: Thanks everyone for the support!
